The meeting pointed out that in 2024, the national business system will resolutely implement the decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, solidly promote the high-quality development of e-commerce and the digital transformation of various fields of commerce, and make positive progress in various tasks. Consumer e-commerce has gathered new growth momentum, and the national online retail sales increased by 7.2% in 2024, and China has ranked the world's largest online retail market for 12 consecutive years. Industrial e-commerce has created a new channel for the integration of digital and real economy, organized nearly 500 industrial match-making activities across the country, cultivated more than 2,000 "e-commerce + industrial belts", and driven collaborative innovation in the industrial chain; The "Silk Road E-commerce" has expanded new space for international cooperation, with the number of partner countries increasing to 33, and 38 tasks in the three aspects of the Pilot Zone being comprehensively promoted, providing fruitful support for the institutional opening up of the e-commerce field. The Three-year Action Plan for digital commerce has been effective, and the level of digitalization in all areas of business has been steadily improved, becoming a new driving force for the development of new quality productive forces.

The meeting emphasized that 2025 is the final year of the "14th Five-Year Plan", and the competent Departments of Commerce at all levels should unify their thoughts and actions to the decision-making and deployment of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, based on the "three important" positioning of business work, coordinate development and security, make efforts in online and offline integration, and strive to create a good e-commerce ecology, expand digital consumption, and empower industrial transformation; We will make efforts in domestic and international linkage, expand institutional opening-up in the field of e-commerce at a high level, promote high-quality cooperation in "Silk Road e-commerce", and build a strong e-commerce production and supply chain; We will make efforts in the digital transformation of the business sector, improve the quality and efficiency of the three-year action of digital commerce, enhance the ability of digital governance, and contribute to the high-quality development of commerce.
